weekend walking
Monday, July 20th, 2009This weekend’s weather was nice, almost record-settingly cool (mid 70s), so we went on a few walks. While we were downtown, we discovered our sushi place now has dollar-sushi-Sundays. Awesome.

maiden voyage of the Lumix LX3
Friday, May 22nd, 2009I finally decided to accept the fact that I didn’t use my DSLR (Nikon D40) enough and it was time to reconfigure my camera situation. My lack of usage was almost entirely because the D40 was too big/bulky to have with me most of the time. I opted to sell it, along with my Canon G3, and buy a high-end compact. I chose the Panasonic Lumix LX3, which I’ve come to discover has something of a cult following due to its awesomeness. It also has all-metal construction and retro styling which I am all about.
See more/read about it here.
So, for posterity, I’m going to post the first picture I took with it. This is not a great picture by any means, but I was impressed with the performance of the camera because this was taken in a very dim room at night and still looks good. No post-processing.
More, better pictures to come.
Feel free to ask me anything you like about this camera if you’re considering buying one. I think it was absolutely the right move for me at this stage in my photographic life and I hope to get a lot of use out of it. It inspired me to start this blog up, I mean, come on. It’s magic.
